Poetry is like Breathing.

I wrote a poem once,
with you in Starbucks.
I wrote a poem once,
when we had just started us.
I wrote a poem once,
and I wrote a poem another time.
If I added them up,
what would I have?
Verses and lines that go on and on,
about love and pain and beauty and us.
All of it never-ending,
about joy and sadness and God.
Pages and prose,
of life and hope and faith and loss.
If I added it up,
it would be just you and me.
Strings of letters with small spaces between,
to sum it up: the story of us.
